Quince is a golden yellow aromatic fruit with irregular shapes. It originated in Asia Minor thousands of years ago. The tree soon expanded to the Mediterranean countries and therefore Spain, where it became very popular.

Its scientific name “Cydonia oblonga” comes from Cydonia, a city on the island of Crete famous for growing this kind of fruit, which in Ancient Greece was already well-known and highly prized.
